At St Joseph’s a model of Religious Education is used that has two distinct dimensions. Teaching people religion (Religion Curriculum) and teaching people to be religious (Religious Life of the School). In this way we draw upon the Catholic Christian tradition in ways that are mindful of local contexts and the ecumenical and multi-faith realities of contemporary culture.

Religion Curriculum
The classroom teaching of Religion uses the Archdiocese of Brisbane Curriculum P-12. Catholic schools allocate 2.5 hours per week for the teaching of religion. This is a vigorous subject that is formally assessed.
The content of the Religion Curriculum has been organised into four interrelated strands: Sacred Texts, Beliefs, Church and Christian Life. Planning for the classroom learning and teaching of religion balances and integrates all four strands.
